India Book of Records (IBR), the national record keeper of Bharat, has been recognizing the extraordinary feats and extraordinary people since 2006. The IBR record book encourages unique acts of adventure, social change, and individual limits. Dr Suresh Kumar, Haresh Barath Mohan, and the Doll Making Enthusiasts of Chennai; Kanpur Nagar Nigam, Eluru Municipal Corporation, Ashutosh Panigrahi of Jamshedpur, Turbocharged magazine of Pune, Cardiologist Dr HK Chopra, and Dr Raghvendra Sharma of Bhopal showcased their uniqueness and established new records with the support of IBR. In Punjab, the Commissionerate Police, Amritsar, and CATT (The Congenital Anomaly Treatment Trust) at the Harmandir Sahib (The Golden Temple) set the record for the Largest Congregation and Walkathon by Students to Pray for Drug-Free Punjab.
The record for maximum handcrafted replicas of deities displayed at a single venue was set by Roopa Sanjay, founder of Doll Making Enthusiasts (FB group) of Chennai. The longest cleaning marathon was conducted by Kanpur Nagar Nigam. The Municipal Corporation of Eluru, Andhra Pradesh created a record by involving the maximum number of people taking selfies to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The record for maximum addition and multiplication sums solved by a teen with autism was set by Ashutosh Panigrahi of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The record for the first electric car to reach India’s hottest and coldest borders was set by TurboCharged Magazine, Pune. Similarly, a record for writing the maximum focused textbooks of Cardiology in a decade was set by Dr HK Chopra, Chief Cardiologist & Chairman, CME, Moolchand Medcity, New Delhi. He said, “India Book of Records inspired me to achieve this milestone and now I am inspiring my fellow doctors.”
The record for maximum intellectual property protection applied by a university in a single day was set by Dr Suresh Kumar Pro Vice Chancellor, Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The record for non-stop swimming across Palk Strait by an autistic teen was set by Haresh Barath Mohan of Chennai. The record for a non-stop seminar on 100 subjects by 100 speakers in 100 hours was set by Dr Raghvendra Sharma, Chairman, TASC International Public Policy Research Center, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
