Significant increase in India’s coal production and dispatch

India's coal production for FY 2023-24 has increased to 803.79 MT as of February 6, 2024, showing a significant growth of 12.07% from 717.23 MT recorded during the same period for FY 2022-23. Shows an impressive growth rate of Rs. Earlier, the same production figure of 800 MT mark was achieved in the last financial year 2022-23 (30 days ahead) on 08.03.23.

In view of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) initiative, the Coal Ministry has achieved this remarkable progress towards energy security and self-reliance, which is an important moment in India's journey towards sustainable development. Along with this, the improved coal logistics The infrastructure has played an important role in facilitating the transportation and dispatch of coal across the country. Coal dispatch as on the same date has increased to 815.11 MT, showing a much higher growth than 736.00 MT reported during the same period of the last financial year, registering a growth rate of 10.75%.
