28 National Highway projects worth Rs 6,600 crore launched in Odisha


Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 28 National Highway Projects worth Rs 6,600 crore through video conferencing in Shri Jagannath Puri, enhancing better connectivity for the prosperity of Odisha. Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav and Bharatiya Janata Party's National Spokesperson Shri Sambit Patra along with MPs, MLAs and officials were also present in this inauguration and foundation stone laying program.

The projects inaugurated today include 6-laning work under Chandikhol to Bhadrak section of National Highway-16 and 4-laning work under Baharagora-Singhra section of National Highway-49. These projects will reduce travel time and save fuel. Apart from this, connectivity to ports on the east coast will be easy, which will increase industrial activities.

Apart from this, the foundation stone of 26 ambitious projects was also laid with the aim of giving new pace of development to Odisha. Apart from these, work is also being started on 13 other projects. Completion of these projects will give impetus to the economic development of Odisha. With this, the journey of the devotees coming to Shri Jagannath Dham and Konark Temple will be completed safely and on time. At the same time, Odisha's connectivity with other states will be better. Apart from this, access to ports for mining and raw materials will be easy. This will boost economic activities. With the construction of the railway bridge, travel will be safe and fast.
