Lays foundation stone and inaugurates various projects worth over Rs 80,000 crore in Hazaribag, Jharkhand


On October 2, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various development projects in Hazaribag, Jharkhand, with a remarkable total investment surpassing ₹80,000 crore. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment towards tribal welfare and development, particularly in the context of his focus on indigenous communities in India.

Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan: This ambitious program was launched to enhance the living conditions in around 63,000 tribal-dominated villages across approximately 550 districts. The scheme aims to improve infrastructure in health, education, and livelihood, benefiting over 5 crore tribal people with a budget exceeding ₹79,150 crore.

Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS): Modi inaugurated 40 existing schools and laid the foundation for 25 new EMRS, aimed specifically at providing quality education to tribal students. The total investment for these educational institutions is estimated to be over ₹2,800 crore. Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN): Multiple projects under this scheme were inaugurated with a budget of more than ₹1,360 crore. These projects encompass over 1,380 kilometers of road, 120 Anganwadis, 250 multi-purpose centers, and 10 school hostels.
