India’s Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini Enhances Maritime Ties During New York Visit


Indian Naval Sail Training Ship (INS) Sudarshini has successfully concluded her port call at New York, USA, as part of the OKAYAN 2026 overseas deployment aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation, promoting India’s rich seafaring heritage and enhancing goodwill with partner nations.

 

During the visit, the ship participated in a series of professional, cultural and diplomatic engagements with the United States Navy, local authorities and the Indian diaspora. The port call provided an opportunity to foster maritime collaboration, strengthen people-to-people ties and showcase India’s centuries-old maritime traditions.

 

INS Sudarshini hosted official receptions, ship visits and interactive sessions for dignitaries, naval personnel, cadets and members of the Indian community. The engagements highlighted the Indian Navy’s commitment to maritime diplomacy and its vision of promoting a secure, open and inclusive maritime environment.
